Ya'll remember that 4 piece cocobolo back and side set I wrangled out of Brock? Well I decided to make an 0 sized guitar from it. Here is the back, all joined and profiled. You can tell is a 4 piece by the book matching, but the wood is so darn pretty that I think its justified. It will be getting an Italian spruce top, soon as I get it back from DW ![]() I'm thinking Ebony bindings, Brock suggested BRW, which I think would be sweet. I dont want to get to fancy with the appointments because the wood is so figured. Just clean and classy. |

Its a beaut! Seems like a solid color binding would show off the cocobolo really well and not make it too busy. -j. |

[QUOTE=LanceK]It will be getting an Italian spruce top, soon as I get it back from DW ![]() Wrong...not slicing it. Sliced it. ![]() I'll be mailing it out to you inside your new vac press in the next couple of days. |

I have to agree...I'd like to see solid linings on there too. Maybe ebony, or even white. |

Is that really cocobolo? It looks like Madagascar rose wood, or maybe ziricote. I've never seen cocobolo with ink lines like that! Where did you get it? |

Hesh I'm cutting up some ziricote sets right now. Same figure different color. That is probably the nicest cocobolo set that I've seen. Al |

Spectacular wood! Ebony bindings are elegant; my only complaint about them is that they can easily look like the black plastic you would find on a factory guitar. EIR or BR would look really nice as well. One more idea --- koa is a great color. If you don't want figure, there's plenty of unfigured koa out there. We tend to use curly koa so much that it's easy to forget. |

I think the macassar bindings would look really really nice. Traugott does that kind of thing a lot. |

What does the color do when it's wet? Does it get brown or does the orange come out more? |
